July 18, 1998 – Saturday – 10:45 a.m.

I’ve just been going and going with hardly any time to write.  I’m on the bus now, on my way to a township.

Thursday was more drama training and judging; we passed the judging.  Yesterday, we went to the poor, or rich to some, township around Johannesburg.  We performed the drama four times.  I led about seven adults and 100 kids to the Lord.  And that was just me.

On two ministry sites, I took all the boys over to one side to talk to them.  They began chanting and shouting my name as we walked.  I told them about Jesus.  They were so excited with the largest smiles.  “Tell me about Jesus!” they shouted!

They all accepted the Lord as their savior.  I gave them little booklets to read and one kid started reading it out loud to everyone else.  They were all quiet and listened intently.  That happened twice at two different places.

Afterwards, an older guy came up to me and said, “I’m glad you are here.  My life is only about drinking and drugs, and it is getting me no where.  I don’t want to do that anymore.”

He is a Christian now.  His name is Sylvester.

I cried and cried on the bus ride home.  All those little boys hugged me and kissed my cheeks.  I found myself wanting to move here, just so I can teach them the ways of the Lord?  Who is going to be there for them in the future?

Oh God!

You are great, you do miracles so great, there is no one like you Lord.

October 17, 1995 – Tuesday – 1:15 p.m.

Yesterday, Charlie and I went to Boone to the Christian bookstore.  We had fun.  He is so great.  Kate accepted Jesus into her heart.  She is going to be baptized soon.  The Lord used Charlie and now Kate is a part of the Kingdom of God.

Last night, Dan, Mike, Vince and I went hiking around Hawksnest Ski Resort.  We just wanted to hike the slope up to the top and watch the sunset.  While there, someone asked us to move Mike’s truck out of the parking lot.  We did and then continued our hike.  On the way back down the slope, flashlights were shined in our face and, well, we got arrested for 2nd Degree Trespassing.  They thought we were stealing golf balls.  The person who asked us to move the truck said to the police that he asked us to leave.  But we said he just asked us to move the truck, we didn’t know we were supposed to be there.  It was just an innocent little hike.  I have to go to court on November 16th.

It was actually kind of fun, being questioned and taken down to the Seven Devils Police Department.  I’m hope I’m not in serious trouble; a wonderful memory to look back on.

Jonathan called the other night, he is not doing so good.  Some gay guys are giving him some trouble.  What will become of my best friend?

November 9, 1994 – Wednesday – 6:25 p.m.

Charlie and I talked to Al last night.  It turns out he wasn’t a Christian, so after talking with him for over an hour we prayed with him and he gave his heart to Jesus.  Then he wanted to get baptized, so I called a few people so he could have a little audience.  Charlie, Jason, Olivia, Glenda, Mr. Angel, and Jeni and I were there.  Charlie baptized Al.  It was great.  Al was crying.  I didn’t get to bed until 2:00 a.m. Jeni has gone to Bristol, Tennessee to dance.  She will be back tonight.  We leave in two days.

July 2, 1994 – Saturday – 11:20 p.m.

I’m home and it’s been a good day.  Everything was perfect up until about 4:00 p.m.

I got up at 4:30 a.m.  I took a shower and got Kevin and Marcus up and after they took a shower I drove them both to work.  Marcus was supposed to work at Burger King in Sanford.  He knows the manager and needs the extra money.

The night before, Tenielle called and asked if we could pick her up for Skit Practice.  I said yes.  So I hung around at McDonald’s, at breakfast and then went to Band Practice, only to discover that Pastor Steve had to take someone to the airport.  So we didn’t have Band Practice or Skit Practice.

I went to Jenna and Tenielle’s house anyway.  And we did every little thing we could think of until around 3:00 p.m.

We had so much fun.  We did prank phone calls, watched Beauty and the Beast, and other stuff.  I couldn’t begin to name them all.

Then, at around 3:00 p.m., we went to pick up Kevin and Marcus.

Earlier, Ginger said that the girls didn’t act like themselves when they were around Kevin and Marcus, but when they were around only me, they were themselves.  She was right.  Jenna knows that Marcus likes her.  She only likes him as a friend, but she still shies away, like she did with me around February 7, 1994.  We’re not like that now, but Marcus forces himself to be noticed by her and it puts up a wall between them.  Doesn’t he see what he’s doing?

Marcus and Kevin don’t talk to me anymore.  They probably just think I’m in the way.  They think Jenna and Tenielle are their girls.  But that is just in their minds, for they are my dearest friends.

We went soul-winning tonight and about five or six people got saved.  I took Jenna and Tenielle home after work.  Kevin and Marcus were with us, so we didn’t have much fun.

Anyway, the day is over.  I’m tired, so this entry is over too.
