June 20, 1994 – Monday – 1:15 p.m.

I’m home!  Praise the Lord!

I got here around 11:00 a.m.  I came with Grandma and Grandpa (mom’s side) and with my cousins Allie and Hunter.

I’m doing well, except for the huge zit on my nose.

Yesterday I went to church with my other Grandparents and we ate dinner at my Aunt’s afterwards.  But I left the next morning and I’m happy to be back in North Carolina.  I have 69 days until I leave for college; and orientation is this Friday!

Marcus is here.  I told him about finding my dad’s porn stash and throwing it in the woods.  I probably won’t tell anyone else though.  I just had to get it off my chest.

Sixty-nine days!

Church is Wednesday!

I’m here.

I’m back.

Deep Creek is my only other vacation.

June 13, 1994 – Monday – 4:42 p.m.

Yesterday morning I went to work with my dad at the local golf course.  I helped him with the golf carts.  It was fun.

That night I went to church with Grandpa and and Grandma.  The church is only old people; no people my age.  They showed a film.  It was okay.  I was wearing my Les Miz shirt and the music director asked me where I got it.  I told him and he said that he saw the musical three years ago.

Today I helped my other Grandpa (mom’s dad) unpack my aunt’s stuff from the truck.  My uncle came around one o’clock with his two kids.  They are both under nine.

I’m back here now and I have diarrhea.

Bummer.

June 7, 1994 – Tuesday – 3:10 p.m.

Last night while watching the kids in Bonlee, I called Jenna and Tenielle.  I asked them if they wanted to come to my graduation.  They do and their mom is coming too.

Then this morning my dad calls and said that Grandma and Grandpa have decided to come.  I told them that I didn’t have enough tickets.  They said it was okay.  They just wanted an excuse to get away, they didn’t really want to come to my graduation.  My mom tells me that I should tell Jenna and Tenielle to not come and let Grandma and Grandpa have their tickets, but there is no way.  Tenielle cancelled a beach trip with a  friend so she could come and at the moment, they are much more important in my life.

Cheryl also called me this morning and told me that Jenna called her and wanted her to call me.  Since their phone bill was so high that can’t afford to call long distance.

Anyway, they are planning a pool party for Thursday and they, of course, want me to come.  It starts at 11:00 a.m. but I called them up and told them I couldn’t get there until the afternoon since the senior picnic is also that morning.

Tomorrow is Wednesday.  That means church and then the pool party and then graduation.  I’ll be in Virginia for seven days.  Those seven days will be over before I know it and then I’ll have 70 days left.

Seventy days!

Ten weeks.

Two and a half months.

June, July, August!

Where did November, December, January, February, March, April, and May go?

I know where they went.  They went into My Book of Days.  Anything in My Book of Days means it has come and gone and a totally new day is about to begin.

Here’s to tomorrow…

December 25, 1993 – 7:23 p.m. – Saturday

Christmas is almost over.

I got tons of clothes, praise God!  I also received some tapes and other stuff.  I’ll be up here for another week.  I’m going to miss church tomorrow.  Although I’m up here in Virginia, my mind and heart is still back in Sanford, NC.

I’ve been thinking about Jenna.  She may be 13, but why not take her out just to get to know her some.  We’ll see!

Today, I looked at my grandparents, they have been married for over 40 years.  Is that not amazing!  They’re so old.  One day that is going to be me.

Well, I really don’t know what to write.  I’m almost at the end of this notebook, this fourth Book of Days.  I’ve already bought my fifth book and I brought it with me to Virginia.

Once I get back to school, I have only eight days left in the semester.  Then I start four new classes: Advanced Math, Honors English IV, Computer Applications II, and Library Aid.  It will be harder than the first semester.

Today, I went over to my Aunt Katherine’s to practice Canon in D on her keyboard.  It’s coming along.  Everyone keeps saying, “who taught you to play the piano?”  I just smile.

Well guys, nature is calling at the south end.  I must be going.

November 25, 1993 – Thursday – 8:44 a.m.

Happy Thanksgiving.

We came up to Virginia yesterday after school.  I’m at my Grandma’s house.  On my dad’s side that is.

My dad went to work.  Kevin went with him.

We’ll eat Thanksgiving tonight at my uncle’s then go back to my mom’s side of the family and leave early in the morning.  Right now I’m recording a lot of stuff.  Different music and records.

I wonder what Ryan is doing right now.

Come on.  Control yourself, Jacob.  Ryan is just a good friend of yours.  She’s like your sister.  There is nothing between you and there never will be.  Give it a rest.  She is your friend and that is all you want her to be.  That’s all she ever will be.

Hmm.  I feel a little better.
